According to Marysville Police Department reports:
Police responded to a report of drug abuse (marijuana) in the 800 block of North Maple Street at 8:48 a.m. Thursday.
Police responded to a report of identity theft in the 700 block of Hickory Hill Drive at 1:47 p.m. Thursday.
Police responded to a report of an accident involving Meredith A. Taylor, 81, of Plain City that occurred on West Fifth Street at 1:08 p.m. Thursday. Reports indicate a vehicle was parked on the side of West Fifth Street when Taylor struck the rear corner of the car. Taylor then flipped over, coming to final rest on the roof of the vehicle. Taylor experienced suspected serious injuries and was transported to Memorial Hospital by the Marysville Division of Fire. She was cited for failure to control.
According to Union County Sheriff’s Office reports:
A deputy responded to Route 287 near Stokes Road to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2004 Acura RSX that drove off the road and into a ditch at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday.
Deputies and units from the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to U.S. 33 near Poling Road to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2016 Dodge Dart and a 2020 Ford F-150 that resulted from a road rage incident at 5:27 a.m. Wednesday. The State Patrol investigated the crash.
A deputy and units from the Northwestern Fire District were dispatched to a residence in the 19000 block of Main Street in Broadway for a person found unresponsive at 9:03 a.m. Wednesday. The person was pronounced deceased and the Union County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene.
A deputy met with a resident from the 11000 block of Poppyseed Drive to investigate a missing passport at 11:29 a.m. Wednesday.
A deputy met with a Dublin Police Department officer to take custody of Taylor R. Mayse, 25, of Magnetic Springs for an outstanding arrest warrant at 12:01 p.m. Wednesday. She was transported to the Sheriff’s Office and released after posting a bond.
As a result of a traffic stop on U.S. 33 near Beecher Gamble Road, a deputy arrested Shannon W. Backus, 37, of Bellefontaine for an outstanding arrest warrant from the Dublin Police Department at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday. She was also issued traffic citations for driving under suspension and operating a vehicle with one headlight. She was transferred to the custody of a DPD officer.
