From Union County Sheriff’s Office Reports:
A deputy was sent to the Fairfield County Jail at 1:12 a.m., Friday, to take custody of Scott M. Laver, 52, of Baltimore, for an outstanding arrest warrant. Laver was taken to Tri-County Regional Jail.
At 1:20 a.m., Friday, deputies assisted Marysville Police Officers with a fight on Grove Court in Marysville.
Deputies and units from the Northern Union County Fire and EMS District responded to a home in the 34000 block of Fields Road at 5:10 a.m., Friday, for an overdose. The victim was taken to Marion General Hospital. A report was taken.
Deputies were dispatched to a home in the 14000 block of Harmon Patrick Road at 7:59 a.m., Friday, to investigate a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was later located, arrested and taken to the Central Ohio Youth Center. A report was taken.
A deputy met with an Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper to take custody of Thomas J. Mayes, 38, of Columbus, at 11:27 a.m., Friday, for an outstanding arrest warrant. Mayes was transported to Marysville Municipal Court and released after posting a bond.
A deputy was sent to a business in the 7300 block of Route 161 at 3:59 p.m., Friday, to investigate a counterfeit $50 bill that was used at the business. A report was taken.
Deputies responded to Treaty Line Road, east of Middlesworth Road, to investigate a property damage crash involving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala that lost control, drove off the road and struck a utility pole. The driver fled the scene, and a crash report was taken.
Evelyn M. Stephens, 30, of Urbana, was issued a traffic citation for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash at 5:08 p.m., Friday. Stephens was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander at the intersection of Route 87 and U.S. 33. Stephens’ Uplander hit the back of a 2020 Ford Escape which then hit the back of a 2022 Acura RDX. Deputies and units from the Allen Township Fire Department and the Northwestern Fire District responded to the scene.
A Union County deputy met with a Marion County deputy to take custody of Eric L. Griffith, 54, of Marysville, at 12:00 a.m., Saturday, for an outstanding arrest warrant. Griffith was taken to Tri-County Regional Jail.
Gregory S. Bowman, 26, of Delaware, was issued a traffic citation for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash at 8:32 a.m., Saturday. Bowman was driving a 2022 Kia K5 on Route 42 at Industrial Parkway when she hit the back of a 2012 Honda Accord. Deputies responded to the scene to investigate. A crash report was taken.
A deputy was sent to a home in the 7000 block of Dogwood Drive at 8:44 a.m., Saturday, to resolve a property dispute between an ex-husband and an ex-wife. No report was taken.
Deputies and units from the Union Township Fire Department responded to the 19000 block of Middleburg Plain City Road at 10:08 a.m., Saturday, for an injury crash involving a bicyclist. The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital and no report was taken.
Deputies met with a resident from the 19000 block of West Darby Road at 12:54 p.m., Saturday, to investigate a fraudulent computer scam involving Bitcoin. No report was taken.
A deputy was dispatched to a property on Railroad Street in Milford Center at 3:04 p.m., Saturday, to investigate a littering complaint involving approximately 50 tires that were dumped on the property. No report was taken.
Deputies were sent to a home in the 13000 block of Route 36 at 12:07 a.m., Sunday, to investigate a fight between two men. The parties were separated. No report was taken.
A deputy was sent to the 16000 block of Allen Center Road at 6:38 a.m., Sunday, to investigate damage to several mailboxes. A report was taken.
A Union County deputy met with a Hardin County Deputy at 11:37 a.m., Sunday, to take custody of Rachel A. Bordner, 41, of Waynesfield, for an outstanding arrest warrant. Bordner was taken to Tri-County Regional Jail.
A deputy met with a resident from the 8000 block of Dunn Court at 4:19 p.m., Sunday, to investigate a telecommunications harassment complaint involving unwanted text messages that were received. No report was taken.
At 4:40 p.m., Sunday, a deputy was sent to a property in the 14000 block of State Route 47 to investigate a dog complaint. No report was taken.
Deputies were sent to a business in the 7000 block of Corporate Boulevard at 4:43 p.m., Sunday, to resolve a dispute between a business employee and a customer. No report was taken.
Tyler R. Huff, 27, of Marysville, was arrested at 7:53 p.m., Sunday, when he turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office for an outstanding warrant from the Marysville Police Department. Huff was turned over to a Marysville Police Officer.
