The Union County Historical Society is inviting residents to celebrate the bicentennial of Marysville by exploring the city’s past.
The Union County Museum will be open on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16 and 17, special dates for the Marysville Bicentennial.
The normal hours of The Union County Museum are the first and third Sundays of the month from 1-4 p.m. until Nov. 17. The museum and library are open every Wednesday from 12:30-3:30 p.m. until Sept. 11.
The museum features exhibits on Noah Orr, the Turner-Brennan 1905 car, the log house and the Walt Disney Nickelodeon, among other artifacts from Union County.
The library is open for historical research and its archives include newspapers, old photographs and other research aides.
The Union County Museum is located in the Morey House at 246 West 6th Street, and the library is next door at 254 West 6th Street.
Admission is $5 but is free to Historical Society members and children under 18, who must be accompanied by an adult. Special tours are available upon request.
