Memorial Day is a special time when we pause and kneel to those who have sacrificed for us. This time also reminds us of “all veterans” who have served or are serving and the Veterans Remembrance Committee has begun preparing for the Veterans Day Program to be held on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. on the Union County Courthouse lawn at the plaza.
Residents can honor veterans this Memorial Day with an engraved paver. If the order is placed by June 14 the paver will be placed in the floor of the Veterans Monument Plaza and dedicated during the Veterans Day program.
There are two brick sizes, 4×8” or 8×8” and those can be purchased at the Union County Foundation Office (Veterans Remembrance Fund) at 126 North Main St., or by email: www.unioncountyfoundation.org or by calling 937-642-9618.
It is important that all veterans who have ever lived in Union County be included in the county database and kiosk located at the plaza with or without a paver. Visit our website at www.ucvetmemorial.org for more information.
