The Marysville Public Library is hosting a summer reading program that encourages children to read more by offering prizes for time spent reading.
The program, called “A Universe of Stories,” provides young readers with booklets used to track the time they spend reading from now until July 31.
Parents or children can pick up a free booklet at the library.
The booklet also has space for students to track activities aside from reading.
After completing 10 hours of reading and 10 activities, readers can present the completed booklet at the library to receive a coupon packet. If students double that number with 20 hours of reading and 20 activities, they will receive a free book of their choice.
Every child who participates will receive a backpack and be entered to win a grand prize.
