The regular meeting of The St. John’s Lutheran Church Ladies’ Aid Society was held on June 6 at 1:30 p.m. at the Heritage House with 15 members present.
The meeting began with an opening devotion followed by approval of the previous meeting’s minutes.
Afterward, the treasurer’s report was distributed and filed for audit. A motion was carried to move the quilting account to New York Life.
Members were told the Board of Education is in need of volunteers for the Bicentennial celebration on August 17 at Uptown Friday Nights. The volunteer shifts are one and a half hours long and include greeting people and handing out balloons.
Volunteers were also requested to host the LWML Central Zone Fall Fellowship on September 28. The gym and cafeteria have been reserved and volunteers will help to provide breakfast, lunch and table decorations.
Motions were carried for each of the following: a monetary gift for retiring teacher, Lois Lowery; reimbursement for the Ladies Spring Banquet photographer; and funding for the YMO Youth Gathering in Minnesota.
The July Meeting will be held on July 11 at Leon’s Garage at 11:30 a.m. Those interested in attending should RSVP to Pat Martin by July 8.
