Local high school softball teams learned who their opening ball games will be against for the 2019 post-season tournament.
Teams drew for opponents on Sunday.
Jonathan Alder’s softball team earned the No. 2 seed in Division II.
Lakewood holds the top seed in the division.
The Lady Pioneers earned an opening-round bye for action that will begin next week.
Alder will host either No. 15 London or No. 22 Cristo Rey Columbus at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.
The London-Cristo Rey game is set for Tuesday, May 7.
North Union’s girls also claimed a second seed in Division III.
The Lady Cats will host an opening round game on May 9 at 5 p.m.
North Union will encounter the winner of the May 7 contest between No. 16 Liberty Union and No. 20 Northridge.
Cardington-Lincoln earned the top seed in Division III.
Marysville’s varsity softball squad earned the No. 5 seed in Division I.
The Lady Monarchs drew a first-round bye and will open the post season on Wednesday, May 8.
MHS will host the winner of the Westland (No. 37) and Columbus Northland (No. 36) contest.
The Columbus schools will play against each other on Monday, May 6.
The first pitch for the Lady Monarchs’ game is set for 5 p.m.
Westerville Central earned the top seed in Division I.
Fairbanks’ softball squad is seeded No. 14 in Division III.
The Lady Panthers will host Wellington (No. 19) in a first-round game.
That contest is set for May 7, at 5 p.m.
Triad earned the No. 5 seed in the Southwest District.
The Lady Cardinals will host No. 6 Russia in Division IV on May 9 at 5 p.m.
Mechanicsburg earned the top seed in the division.
