Lady Monarchs fall
Marysville’s varsity spikers were swept by Olentangy 4-25, 14-25, 6-25.
The setback dropped MHS’ record to 5-9 overall and 1-2 in the Ohio Capital Conference.
The Braves tallied the first 11 points of the opening set before cruising to the victory.
Olentangy held a 7-1 margin to begin the ensuing game.
The Lady Monarchs put up a fight during that game, but struggled mightily during the final set.
“We gave it a battle during the second game,” said Monarch coach Bethany Bentz. “Our youth is hurting us. It’s not skills that we’re struggling with, it’s our inexperience against a tough schedule.”
