Wrestlers from Jonathan Alder, Fairbanks, North Union and Triad will begin competition today in district tournaments.
The Pioneers will compete in the Division II regional at Wilmington High School.
Reece Chapman will open 106-pound competition with a match against Lucas Abner of Eaton.
Chapman will take a 41-6 record into the contest, while Abner is 6-25.
Xavier Pierce (113) has posted a 29-14 record so far this season.
His first district match will be against Thane McCoy of Wilmington (26-12).
Pierce will be followed at 120 pounds by Eli Trbovich (28-13). His first match will be against Goshen’s Chase Huff, who sports a 30-0 mark.
Josh Proper will take a 36-9 mark into his opening round match at 126 pounds.
He will tangle with Wilmington’s Donovan Butler (26-9).
Oliver Byerly will compete in the 132-pound division.
Byerly has a 37-12 record for the season.
His first-round bout will be against Western Brown’s Gage Daugherty, who is 34-10.
Michael Boggs of JA will compete in the 195-pound division.
Boggs (40-5) will battle Jared Kremer of Franklin (30-8) during the opening round.
North Union and Fairbanks grapplers will travel to Heath for the Division III district.
