A small group of Marysville High School athletes traveled to the new facility at Wittenberg University to compete during an indoor track and field meet.
The event was held at the new field house at Wittenberg.
Indoor track and field has been a large part of the MHS boys and girls track and field programs for a number of years.
Monarch coaches have used the indoor season as a way to prepare for the spring outdoor campaign each year.
Carys Gossett continued to establish herself was one of the premier weight event athletes in the area.
She placed third in the weight throw with an effort of 38-7.
The event consists of athletes throwing a 20-pound ball that has a handle.
Cossett also placed third in the shot put.
She came through with a heave of 35-11.25.
That broke the previous Lady Monarch indoor record for that event.
The former standard was 35-2, set by Monica Miller in 2016.
The Lady Monarch 4 x 800 meter relay team continued its strong winter performances.
The foursome of Bryn Hothem, Bailey Gross, Maggie Foust and Emerson Bautsch claimed top honors in the event.
Their time was 10:15.
Other local results (top 10) from the meet were as follows:
-Girls 1600 meter run: Rachael Hoover, Fairbanks, sixth, 5:21.43; Gross, eighth, 5:25.09;
-Girls 1600 meter relay: Fairbanks, third, 4:17.86 (Ally Gearhart, Kinley Green, Addie Thrush, Hoover);
