Bunsold Middle School’s eighth-grade football team recently topped Hilliard Heritage, 14-6.
The Monarchs (2-0) were led by Corbin Wallace with 89 yards on 13 carries.
He scored a touchdown and added a two-point conversion.
Grady Evans fell on a fumble to give the Monarchs their first score of the contest.
The Marysville defense held Heritage out of the end zone at the end of the game with a minute remaining to preserve the victory.
Bunsold used a goal-line stand in which Heritage had the ball first and goal from the Monarchs’ four-yard-line. Marysville was able to keep Hilliard out of the end zone.
The defense was led by Tyson Barker’s nine tackles and a forced fumble.
Cameron Smith tallied four tackles and an interception.
Wallace notched five tackles and recovered a fumble.
The Monarchs will travel to Olentangy Hyatts on Thursday.
