Marysville’s Jack Christian stepped up in a huge way during Tuesday’s fourth quarter at Dublin Scioto.
Christian tallied half of his 14 points over the eight-minute period to help the Monarchs (10-6) down the Irish, 45-36.
MHS held a 14-11 edge going into the second stanza and a 20-16 margin at the halftime turn.
Scioto rallied to deadlock the contest at 27-all by the conclusion of the third period.
Christian hit five-of-six clutch free throws during the fourth quarter to keep the Irish at bay.
The Monarchs will make a return trip to Dublin on Friday when they travel to Coffman.
MHS already has a victory over the Shamrocks this season and will look to keep its Ohio Capital Conference Central Division mark unblemished.
Marysville will take a 7-0 divisional record into the battle.

FHS edges Cardinals
The Panther boys nipped Triad, 50-45, in an Ohio Heritage Conference battle.
Fairbanks upped its overall record to 9-8 and its OHC mark at 8-4 with the victory.
The Cardinals slipped to 1-15 overall and 0-12 in the circuit.
Braylon Green tallied six points during the opening quarter as FHS took a 14-11 margin.
Ayden Spriggs of Triad swished the net for half of his 16 points during the ensuing set.
As a result, the Cardinals (who will travel to Mechanicsburg on Friday) narrowed their deficit to 27-26 by the turn.
The Panthers took a 39-36 lead into the fourth quarter.
Wyatte Miller sank four key free throws for FHS in the final set to help clinch the victory.
Fairbanks will host West Liberty-Salem on Friday.
The rivals are tied at the top of the OHC North Division.

Triad hoopsters split
Triad’s seventh and eighth-grade boys hoopsters split games earlier this week against Northeastern.
Hunter Thompson tallied 11 points and Griffin Ross added eight during the eighth-grade’s 42-24 victory.
Triad’s Caleb Thomas led all scorers with 18 during the seventh-grade’s 40-22 setback.
