Marysville’s varsity softball team plated 10 runs in the fourth inning on Monday to defeat Galesburg Christian, 15-5.
The game was played at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Izzy Shroyer upped her pitching record to 2-0 with 4 1/3 innings of work. She allowed three runs on seven hits, while fanning six and issuing one walk.
The Lady Monarchs rapped 12 hits, led by Shroyer, who had three.
Hannah Moffett and Leah Potter each had a hit and two RBIs.

Marysville then dropped a 6-1 verdict to Greenville High School.
Emily Daniel led MHS with two hits in three trips to the plate.
Shroyer, Lexi Williams and Abby Ginglesberger each had one hit.
Jewely Livingston was tagged with the loss as MHS slipped to 2-1 on the season.
She allowed four runs on six hits, fanned two and walked one in 4 1/3 innings in the circle.

The Marysville JV softball team defeated Morgan County Ky., 17-2, on Monday.
Cassie Van Dyke was the winning pitcher as she struck out six.
Gindlesberger had three hits, including a home run.
Jillian Smith also homered as the jayvees improved to 3-0.

Fairbanks’ softball team (2-2) split games on Monday in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
The Lady Panthers were roughed up in the first game, losing by an 11-3 verdict to Hinsdale, Ill.
Bella Rowland took the loss as she yielded seven hits in four innings.
April Ward finished the game and did not allow a hit during three frames of work.
The Lady Panthers did not help their cause in the field as they committed seven errors.
Fairbanks was limited to three hits, two of which came from Madi Montenaro.

Julia Cheney notched the nightcap victory as FHS downed William Penn Charter School of Pennsylvania during a 27-16 slugfest.
Cheney walked five and struck out one.
Both teams combined for 41 hits, 25 of which came off Panther bats.
Montenaro clubbed a trio of homers, including a three-run shot in the sixth inning.
Allison Kise hit a solo dinger in the fourth and Ashlyn Ward drilled a grand slam in the seventh.

Fairbanks’ baseball squad won two of its first three games during a spring trip to Myrtle Beach.
The Panthers notched victories over Rootstown and Church Farm (PA) by respective scores of 5-3 and 19-0.
Mason Cushman was the winning pitcher against Rootstown as he fanned two in five innings.
Alex Jones provided relief help.
Cushman went two-for-three at the plate with a home run, while Connor Pack had two hits, including a dinger.
Jones went two-for-three.
John Pastirzyk earned the victory over Church Farm.
Cushman crushed another round-tripper, while Weston Lorenz, Pastirzyk and Jaeden Eickhoff each tallied a pair of hits.
The Panthers dropped a 13-2 verdict to Richfield Revere (Ohio) High School in six innings.
Eickhoff was tagged with the loss.
Pack had a pair of hits.
