The Lady Monarchs upped their softball record to 19-1 with a twinbill sweep.
Marysville opened with a 10-2 triumph over Groveport Madison, followed by a 14-1 verdict over Columbus DeDales.
Abby Christian was the winning pitcher against Groveport. She started and pitched the first, third, fifth and seventh frames.
Christian allowed one hit and fanned six.
Taryn Born pitched the second, fourth and sixth innings. She struck out five.
Abri Schmutz and Camryn Harbold each had three hits.
Harbold also drove in a trio of runs.
Born, Haley Winans, Abby Gindlesberger, Christian and Avery Henry each had one hit.
Gindlesberger and Henry both drove in two runs.

She won in relief of Born.
The Lady Monarch hurlers yielded four hits and combined to strike out eight.
Maya Segner, Christian, Gindlesberger, Harbold and Born each finished with two hits.
Schmutz, Winans and Henry also hit safely.

The Marysville JV team took a twinbill against Mount Vernon by scores of 3-1 and 13-4.
In the first game, Caitlin Rigel went the distance in the circle. She allowed only one run in the first inning. Rigel struck out five and scattered six hits.
The score was tied at 1-1 until the sixth inning.
Ashlynn McAdow and Abigail Wilkerson had back-to-back walks.
Sydney Calhoon moved them to second and third on a sacrifice bunt.
Jordyn Ledley came through with a base hit to score both runners and give the Monarchs a 3-1 lead.
Rigel gave up a hit in the seventh, but the Monarch defense turned a double play to end the game.
In the second game, the Monarchs’ bats came alive by scoring 10 runs over the first two innings.
Rigel again was in the circle and went the distance. She fanned six.
Sydney Calhoon led the attack by collecting three hits.
Mia Carder, Abby Strahm and Kallie Schweinfurth each had two hits.
Panthers win
Fairbanks’ baseball squad clubbed Elgin 19-4.
The Panthers took a 4-3 edge in the bottom of the first inning and pulled away from the Comets over the next three frames.
Noah Rausch finished with three of FHS’ 11 hits. He notched seven RBIs for the day.
Ryker Beaty had a pair of hits and drove in four runs.
Ethan Kise and Grant Rausch both finished with two hits.
Taylor Andrews pitched a complete game that concluded with the run rule.
He struck out two during five innings.
The Panthers improved to 8-8 with the verdict.
Cardinals triumph
Triad’s baseball squad edged Greeneview, 5-4.
Ayden Spriggs and Michael Warner each finished with two of Triad’s two hits.
Spriggs also drove in two runs.
Gage Heitman gave up six hits in seven innings to pick up the win.
He struck out two.
The Cardinals improved to 4-11 with the victory.
Triad falls twice
The Lady Cardinals lost a doubleheader to Urbana and Greeneview by respective scores of 12-1 and 15-0.
Both games ended with the run rule.
Lilly Greene took the loss for the Cardinals against Urbana. She struck out three.
Greene also went one-for-two at the plate with a double. Autumn Feasel had a hit and drove in a run.
Mallory Hayes went one-for-three.
Kaydee Roberts took the loss against Greeneview. She struck out two.
Hayes went one-for-two, as did Morgan Alexander.
Feasel also hit safely.
The Lady Cardinals are 3-14 overall and 1-10 in the Ohio Heritage Conference.
