All of the regular Pigskin Pickers turned in winning records during the first week of the 2019 season.
There was one Picker, however, who stood head and shoulders above the rest.
Sports writer Sam Dillon was perfect on all nine games that were picked.
Managing editor Chad Williamson was right on his heels at 8-1.
Publisher Kevin Behrens and reporter Mac Cordell each went 7-2.
Sports editor Tim Miller posted a 6-3 mark.
Our guest pickers are Bob Van Hoose of Bob Van Hoose Garage Doors and Sales; Scotts Weeks of Weeks Plumbing, Dave Laslow of Burger King, Dean Cook of Dean Cook Nationwide Insurance, Rob Eubanks of Eubanks Electric and Kellie O’Connors of Buckeye Family Pizzeria.

Disclaimers:
Williamson: “This is about as tough of a high school slate as I can ever remember in week two. I would just about say that every game is a toss-up. I’m glad I get to watch the Marysville/Delaware contest because after last year, I would guess the Pacers will get the Monarchs’ best effort. Last year Marysville kept fumbling the ball away inside the red zone and suffered so many cramps their sidelines looked like a triage unit. And in spite of that, they nearly scored the two-point conversion in overtime that would have given them the win. I would expect the Monarchs’ best effort this week.”
Miller: “I don’t know much about Col. Crawford, but I think North Union is the real deal this year. They’ve got great athletes in the skill positions and are strong in the trenches on both sides of the ball.”
Behrens: “Last week I was called a yippy guard dog, but as a defending champion I know I am going to take those shots, even from the likes of Williamson. Speaking of Williamson, he is off to a fast start this year in week one, but let’s see how he and Dillon finish because this race is a marathon, not sprint.”
Cordell: “We are fortunate this year that each of the local teams have a good chance to win each week. That makes for an exciting season.”
Dillon: “I got lucky in Week One, but Boise St. made me look good. In North Union’s second season against Colonel Crawford, look for coach Hajjar to work in a little of the unexpected with a beast of a backfield. Triad should pick up its first win of the season with a senior QB at the helm and some good old- fashion running up the middle. This Friday will be fun.”
Van Hoose: “Go Bucks!”
Weeks: “I’m a Bengals guy, but this is a tough one. I’m hesitant to admit I think the “Clowns” will win, but we are picking for the best record, not favorites!”
Laslow: “Go Bucks!”
Cook: “Ohio State looked good on the season opener. I hope they can keep the same pace.”
Eubanks: “Go Bucks!”
O’Connor: Go Bucks!”
