Fairbanks High School senior Braylon Green has earned one of the top honors for boys basketball in the Ohio Heritage Conference.
Green was named the player of the year for the OHC’s North Division.
He led the circuit in rebounds by averaging 10.3 per game.
Green, FHS’ post player, also averaged a like number of points per game as the Panthers posted a 16-7 record during the 2020-21 campaign.
He helped lead the Panthers to a 12-4 mark in the OHC.
That was good for the North Division championship.
Wyatt Miller of Fairbanks was named to the division’s second team.
The senior guard also scored 10.3 points per game and hit nearly 44% from beyond the three-point arc.
FHS’ Carter Schultz was named to the honorable mention list.
A senior, Schultz averaged eight points per contest.
“All three of these guys played important parts for our team,” said Fairbanks head coach Justin George.
“They all had big moments during games this past season,” said the coach. “Braylon and Wyatt were our team leaders.
“Carter was consistent all season,” said George. “He won several games for us.”
One of Schultz’s biggest games of the season came during a double overtime victory over Northeastern.
Schultz poured in 12 points during the overtime sessions to help the Panthers secure the victory.
“These guys were experienced players for us this season,” said George. “They kept everything going for us and it’s going to be tough to lose them.
“We don’t have a lot of experience coming back next year.”
