The Lady Panthers of Fairbanks won a softball game and lost one during competition on Saturday.
Fairbanks began the day with a 10-7 verdict over Milton Union.
Sarah Writesel was the winning pitcher. She allowed eight hits, fanned five and walked three.
Gracie Pyers finished with six hits and drove in four runs.
Danielle Hoover tallied three hits, including a homer.
Writesel, Anna Higbee, Hailey Dee, Julia Cheney and Sierra Pfarr each finished with a pair of hits.
The day’s nightcap saw FHS fall to River Valley, 6-4.
Cheney was tagged with the loss. She surrendered 14 hits and six earned runs.
Dee finished with a trio of hits and Pyers had two.
FHS, 4-7, will travel to Madison Plains today.

Triad’s softball squad split Saturday contests.
The Lady Cardinals rolled past Wayne, 7-2, and fell to Greenville, 13-6, in six innings.
Joni Russell, Cati LeVan and Lillan Green each tallied two hits during the victory over Wayne.
Russell was the winning pitcher.
She received help from Morgan Alexander.
