Fairbanks’ baseball team evened its record at 9-9 with a 10-3 victory at West Jefferson.
The triumph put the Panthers at 6-8 in the Ohio Heritage Conference.
FHS held a 2-1 edge as action moved into the visitors’ portion of the third inning.
Fairbanks erupted for eight runs during that at-bat to pull away from the Roughriders.
West Jefferson tallied consolation runs in the third and fifth.
Ethan Kise led FHS’ seven-hit attack with two. He also drove in a run.
Also hitting safely were Ryker Beaty, Hayden Queen, Grant Rausch, Noah Rausch and CJ Swartz.
Swartz and Noah Rausch combined for five RBIs.
Max Snyder went the distance in the five-inning game that was halted by the wet field conditions.
He struck out three and walked four.
The Panthers will travel to Southeastern on Tuesday and to Northeastern on Wednesday.
They are scheduled to play at North Union on Thursday.

Lady Cardinals fall
Southeastern tallied seven runs in each of the first and second innings to defeat Triad’s softball squad, 16-0.
Morgan Alexander took the loss in the pitching circle. She fanned five.
Mallory Hayes went two-for-two with a double.
Kaydence Feasel had one hit and stole a base.
The Lady Cardinals are now 3-17 overall and 1-13 in the OHC.
They are set to play at Cedarville on Monday.
