FHS then dropped a 7-0 verdict to Perry High School.

MHS splits
The Lady Monarch varsity softball squad (3-1) split a pair of games in Myrtle Beach.
MHS toppled Butler High School, 9-0, during the opening game and then was edged by Buckeye Valley, 1-0.
Abby Christian was the winning pitcher against Butler.
She raised her record to 2-0 as Butler managed just two hits.
Christian and Tareyn Born combined for 18 punchouts and walked only one batter.
Abri Schmutz, Christian, Abby Gindlesberger and Hannah Pack each had two of Marysville’s 11 hits.
Haley Winans, Gindlesberger and Pack both drove in two runs.

Triad falls
The 2022 softball season got off to a difficult start for Triad.
The Lady Cardinals were the victims of a 15-1 run-rule setback at Mechanicsburg.
Triad managed only two hits (one each by Morgan Alexander and Lilly Greene) and suffered six fielding miscues.
The Indians plated eight runs over the first two innings and coasted to the victory.
Alexander started in the pitching circle for Triad.
She allowed six hits and four earned runs during her two-inning stint.
Greene finished the game in relief.
She surrendered five hits, struck out three and allowed five earned runs.
