Fairbanks’ volleyball season came to a conclusion on Thursday.
The No. 7-seeded Lady Panthers (15-10) dropped a 9-25, 23-25, 23-25 verdict to No. 2 Cardington (20-3) during the Division III district semifinals.
The contest was held at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University.
The Lady Panthers fell behind 7-0 during the opening set of the match.
The Pirates pretty much had control for the remainder of the game.
Fairbanks took a 19-13 margin at one stage of the ensuing set, but could not hold the lead.
Claudia Mueller led FHS with eight kills, while Caydee Breneman added six.
Breneman also tallied five blocks.
Ann Higbee notched 12 digs, while Grace Gorton came up with 11.
