Fairbanks’ volleyball team upped its record to 14-3 on Saturday with a 24-26, 26-24, 25-16, 25-18 triumph over Bellefontaine.
Kaidie Carstensen tallied 18 points, 26 kills and eight blocks for FHS.
Cassie Lamb and Taylar Sphapmixay combined for 44 assists.
Emma Griffey finished with 16 kills and six blocks.
St. John’s adds two wins
The St. John’s volleyball team added two more recent opponents to its list of victories.
The Lady Jaguars defeated Grace Christian, 25-12, 25-6 and toppled Genoa Christian Academy 25-13, 25-22.
Stats for the Grace Christian match were as follows:
-Allie Boyd: served 22-of-23 with nine aces;
-Grace Gorton: served 10-for-10 with five aces;
-Anna Lynch: served four-for-four with a pair of aces;
-McKenna Fonner: served four-for-four;
-Mya Balderson: served three-for-three.
St. John’s stats against Genoa Christian Academy were as follows:
-Gorton: served nine-of-10 with three aces and 10 kills;
-Fonner: served eight-of-nine with four aces;
-A. Lynch: served six-of-seven with three aces;
-Sara Lynch: served six-of-seven with two aces.
St. John’s (15-1) fell to the Bunsold Middle School Red team on Monday.
The Lady Monarchs won 25-19, 25-6.
Kennedy Yurkovich had four aces and two assists for Bunsold.
Laila Heilshorn tallied three aces.
Bunsold spikers win
Marysville’s seventh and eighth-grade Blue teams beat Jackson on Monday.
The seventh-grade won 25-13, 25-23.
Bella Hackett led the Monarchs with nine aces and Clarissa Hamilton added five.
Hackett ran the back row for nine digs.
Leah Powers and Danika Doren combined for seven digs.
The eighth-grade won 25-21, 25-13.
Abby Stinemetz led the Monarchs with 10 aces, while Ella Morris tallied eight and Lauren Eizensmits and Breanna Simpkins each finished with five.
Eizensmits ran the back row for seven digs.
