The Cardinals of Triad held Shekinah Christian to just seven points during the second quarter.
The boys hoopsters upped their record to 8-12 with a 61-58 victory over the Flames.
Shekinah held an 18-11 margin at the end of the first quarter.
Triad, though, pulled out to a 26-25 edge by halftime.
The Cardinals’ lead stood at 44-42 by the conclusion of the third period.
Ayden Springs and Ayden Sanford respectively led Triad with 24 and 20 points.
They were followed by Carson Manley-six, Caleb Thomas-five, Kane Bailey-five and Cameron Thomas-one.
Lady Cardinals fall
Triad’s girls closed out the regular season with a 52-26 loss to Southeastern.
Madi Cox tallied a career and season-high of 15 points as the Lady Cardinals slipped to 2-20.
Kaley Nott finished with five points, while Abbey Overfield added five rebounds.
The Lady Cardinals will travel to Sidney High School on Wednesday for their tournament opener.
They will face either Fort Loramie or Ansonia at 6 p.m.
