Marlee Jacobs tossed a three-hitter and was supported by a stout offense as Jonathan Alder’s softball squad beat Kenton Ridge, 7-0.
Jacobs struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter as the Lady Pioneers improved to 9-1 overall and 6-0 in the Central Buckeye Conference.
Evan Platfoot went four-for-four at the plate as JA ripped Cougar pitching for 15 hits. She also drove in a pair of runs.
Kiersten Dolby, Jacobs, Kylie King and Lilly Walker each tallied a pair of hits.
Also hitting safely were Anna Engle, Lizzie Lombardi and Natalie Neumeier.
King joined Platfoot by driving in a pair of runs.
The Lady Pioneers held a 1-0 lead after the top of the first and went on top 2-0 in the fifth.
They added five scores in the visitors’ portion of the sixth inning.
