Another red-hot offensive night by junior Jack Christian led to Marysville’s 63-54 varsity boys basketball victory at Westland on Friday.
CHRISTIAN
Christian tallied 21 of his game-high 35 points from beyond the three-point arc as MHS upped its record to 2-0.
Ryan Barlow joined Christian in double figures with 10 points.
The Monarchs took a 16-8 lead into the second quarter and a 34-30 edge at halftime.
Christian fired in 13 points during the third period as the Monarchs pulled out to a 53-44 margin.
Marysville will return to action on Tuesday at Olentangy Liberty.

Wildcats go to 3-0
North Union’s 56-45 victory at Urbana kept the local squad unbeaten in three games this season.
The contest was tied at 27-all by halftime, but the Wildcats limited Urbana to just six points during the third quarter.
DAY
NU took a 40-33 lead into the final eight minutes of action.
Harley Day led NU with 12 points, followed by Zach Vernon-11 and Preston Crabtree-10.
Owen Davis finished with nine points, followed by Aaron Krebehenne-six, Connor Terrill-three, Gavin Webb-three and Trevyn Feasel-two.
The Wildcats will host Northeastern on Friday.

Pioneers triumph
Jonathan Alder’s boys hoop squad tipped off the season with a 41-21 victory over Bellefontaine.
The Chieftains struggled to put the ball in the basket during the opening quarter and trailed, 16-2, by the end of the stanza.
IZZARD
The Pioneers took a 27-11 margin into the halftime break and carried a 38-15 advantage into the final eight minutes of action.
Jackson Izzard led JA with 15 points, while Jackie Santa-Emma added 11.
The Pioneers will play at Tecumseh on Friday.
