Jonathan Alder pitcher Greg Kennedy tossed a three-hitter during a 12-0 verdict over Tecumseh on Thursday.
Kennedy fanned 11 and did not walk a batter.
Alder’s overall record improved to 9-1 and it is now 7-0 in the Central Buckeye Conference.
JA finished the run-rule shortened game with 15 hits.
Garret Roach went three-for-three at the plate and drove in four runs.
Grant Horne, Kennedy and Ashton Martin each finished with two hits.
Jace Schrock was credited with a trio of RBIs, while Zach Gantz drove in two.
Lady Monarchs win
Marysville’s varsity softball squad needed very little time in turning back Dublin Jerome.
MHS’ 13-3 victory resulted in the contest being shortened by the run rule.
Brooklyn Gamby and Josie Bumgarner combined for four strikeouts and allowed only five hits.
Bumgarner was the winning pitcher.
Ally Clementz and Bumgarner both drilled two-run homers during the fourth inning.
Sienna Hutchins tallied three of Marysville’s 13 hits.
Bumgarner, Maya Segner and Camryn Harbold each finished with two hits.
Also hitting safely were Ella Wood (two RBIs), Gwen Dyal and Jaidan Hutchins.
The Lady Monarchs improved to 9-7 overall and 5-1 in the Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division.
The Marysville JV team lost to Jerome 13-3.
The Lady Monarchs’ offense could only muster three hits, two of which came from Jovie Traucht.
Kylie Levings and Savannah Jenkins shared pitching duties.
Levings took the loss.

Jonathan Alder’s softball squad handed Indian Lake its first setback of the 2024 campaign.
JA improved to 11-2 overall and 8-0 in the Central Buckeye Conference with a 3-1 victory.
Alder held a 2-0 lead after the visitors’ portion of the second inning.
The Lakers (11-1, 7-1) plated their lone run in the home half of the fifth.
Jonathan Alder tacked on an insurance score in the top of the sixth.
JA finished with seven hits.
Abby Bush, Kiersten Dolby, Anna Engle, Riley Magginis, Natalie Neumeier, Evan Platfoot and Katelyn Rihl each had one hit.
Alyssa Miller surrendered six hits and struck out three to pick up the victory.
