London, at 9-3, is in second place in the Kenton Trail.
Grant Horne, Greg Kennedy and Garrett Roach each drove in two runs for JA.
Chase Chopin, Horne, Cam Potter and Andy Yoder each tallied two of Alder’s 11 hits.
Kennedy went the distance on the mound during the six-inning game.
He scattered four hits, fanned nine and issued two walks.

FHS girls win
A 5-4 verdict over West Jefferson improved Fairbanks’ softball record to 12-1-1 overall and 9-1 in the Ohio Heritage Conference.
The Lady Panthers tallied a couple of runs in the bottom of the fifth to win the game.
Jenna Dee had a trio of hits in four trips to the plate.
Claire Meihis went three-for-three and drove in a run.
Elizabeth Gregory finished with two RBIs.
Anna Dulle and Kyah Hendren also hit safely.
Macy Kise pitched 2 2/3 innings and struck out four.
Maddi Sines pitched 4 1/3 innings.

Squad triumphs
The Panther baseball team is now 8-5 overall and 6-2 in the OHC after it edged West Jefferson 4-3.
Fairbanks plated four runs in the bottom of the fourth and withstood a Roughrider run in the top of the seventh.
Cole Justus, Dayne Madison, Zavier Payne and Chase Shope each tallied one hit for FHS.
Madison, Hayden Queen, Shope and Max Snyder drove in runs.
Snyder struck out nine batters in 6 1/3 innings.
Madison finished the game with a pair of K’s in 2/3 of an inning.

NU upped its baseball record to 9-5 overall and 5-5 in the CBC after clubbing Northwestern 9-0.
Tyler Krebehenne had another big game at the plate. He went three-for-four and drove in a pair of runs.
Landon Converse also had a couple of RBIs.
Converse, Evan Beery, Mason Bright, Ashton Haubiel and Caden Potts each had one hit.
Bright yielded just four hits from the mound. He struck out four and walked three.

Lady Pioneers drop game
Jonathan Alder’s softball squad (12-4 overall and 9-2 in the Central Buckeye Conference) lost another contest to Kenton Ridge.
The Cougars plated four runs over the fourth-through-sixth innings to ensure a 7-2 triumph.
The Lady Pioneers were limited to six hits.
Kiersten Dolby and Evan Platfoot both tallied a pair of hits.
Also hitting safely were Maggie McCoy and Natalie Neumeier.
Dolby and Neumeier drove in JA’s runs.
Alyssa Miller started the game in the pitching circle. She allowed three hits and two earned runs.
Also pitching were Neumeier, Macy Pruitt and Eliza Shuping.
