Another Central Buckeye Conference foe went down to defeat at the hands of Jonathan Alder’s baseball squad on Tuesday.
The Pioneers (17-1 overall and 13-0 in the CBC) turned back Indian Lake 8-1.
Mason Keaton scattered four hits during six innings of work on the bump for the Pioneers. He struck out seven and issued a pair of free passes.
Andy Yoder hurled a clean inning in relief.
The Pioneers held a 2-0 edge after a couple of innings.
JA then tallied six runs over the third and fourth to secure the triumph.
Ashton Martin had a solid game at the plate.
He went three-for-four and drove in a pair of runs.
Also hitting safely for Jonathan Alder were Chase Chopin, Grant Horne, Keaton, Greg Kennedy, Jace Schrock and Cashton Wheeler.
The Pioneers outhit the Lakers, 11-4.
JA played flawless defense, while the home squad committed five errors.

FHS girls club SCC
The Lady Panther softball team went on the road and clubbed Springfield Catholic Central, 20-2, in five innings.
Fairbanks (15-2-1 overall and 12-2 in the Ohio Heritage Conference, pounded Irish pitching for 23 hits.
FHS also took advantage of five SCC fielding miscues.
The Lady Panthers set the tone of the game early by plating 10 runs during their first at-bat.
Hailey Dee and Macy Kise both tallied four hits.
Jenna Dee and Anna Dulle had three hits apiece, while Miah Cheney and Claire Meihls both notched two.
Maddi Sines was the winning pitcher for the second consecutive day. She struck out six and allowed two hits in three innings.
Kise finished the game and fanned three.

Panthers notch victory
A 10-1 triumph at Springfield Catholic Central upped Fairbanks’ baseball record to 9-7 overall and 7-4 in the Ohio Heritage Conference.
Hayden Queen drove in a trio of runs, while Zavier Payne and Madden Ungerer each finished with two RBIs.
Ungerer, Queen and Payne each tallied a pair of hits.
Max Snyder had one hit.
Snyder fanned seven and walked two in five innings to pick up the win.
Ungerer and Owen Woody also saw mound duty.

Cardinals fall
Cedarville handed Triad’s baseball squad a 16-0 setback.
The Cardinals are now 0-17 overall and 0-13 in the OHC.
Triad managed just two hits – one each from Alfred Johnson and Larry Lease.
Aiden Cooper, Duncan Funderburgh and Blayk Thomas all pitched for the Cardinals.
