Triad’s girls varsity basketball squad lost a 58-23 verdict to Shawnee earlier this week.
The setback dropped the Lady Cardinals’ record to 0-2.
Shawnee jumped out to an 18-6 advantage by the end of the opening quarter.
The Braves’ margin expanded to 30-15 by halftime.
Shawnee took a 56-20 lead into the final eight minutes of play.
The fourth quarter saw sparse offensive efforts from both teams as Triad tallied three points and the Braves notched two.
Mia LeMay led the Lady Cardinals with eight points and 10 rebounds for the evening.
Madi Cox finished with five points, including Triad’s lone three-point goal.
There was no junior varsity game.
