A twinbill sweep of Marion Pleasant put Triad’s softball team in the victory column.
The Lady Cardinals took the doubleheader by scores of 4-3 and 5-1.
Lilly Green fanned seven batters as she earned the opening game victory.
Allison Harlan went two-for-three at the plate for Triad and drove in a run.
Mallory Hayes had a pair of hits, stole a base and drove in a run.
Hailey Blackburn finished with three sacrifices and had an RBI.
Morgan Alexander whiffed nine during the nightcap triumph.
Green went two-for-four at the plate and drove in a run.
Harlan and Hayes also notched ribbies.
The victories came a day after a 20-0 Triad loss to Northeastern.
Alexander took the loss as she fanned four.
The Lady Cardinals did not have any hits against Northeastern.
The Lady Cardinals (2-4) will play at West Liberty-Salem today.

Alder girls triumph
Jonathan Alder’s softball team upped its record to 3-1 with a 3-2 verdict over Mechanicsburg.
JA pitcher Marlee Jacobs fanned 11, yielded four hits and did not issue a walk in notching the victory.
The Lady Pioneers plated all of their runs in the home half of the first, while the Indians scored once in the first and once in the seventh.
Jonathan Alder finished with four hits.
Jacobs, Lizzie Lombardi, Evan Platfoot and Danielle Robbins each had a hit.
The Lady Pioneers will host Bellefontaine today.

Cardinals fall
Triad’s baseball squad slipped to 0-2 with a 12-5 setback at the hands of Northeastern.
The Cardinals held a 2-1 lead after the bottom of the first.
Northeastern, however, plated five runs in the visitors’ portion of the fifth and added an additional five over the sixth and seventh.
Triad tallied nine hits, but committed six errors.
The Jets roughed up Cardinal hurlers Ayden Spriggs, Derek Bails and Michael Warner for 17 hits.
The Triad pitchers combined for five hits and issued a pair of walks.
Spriggs and Warner both had two hits.
Spriggs finished with a trio of RBIs.
The Cardinals will play at West Liberty-Salem today.
