North Union dominated the first and third quarters, but needed to hold off Benjamin Logan late in the game to earn a 38-37 victory Central Buckeye Conference victory at Benjamin Logan.
The Lady Cats outscored the Raiders 9-2 in the first quarter on Saturday and then 14-8 in the third quarter of play.
Benjamin Logan battled back to trail 19-17 at the half.
It held a 12-5 advantage in the fourth quarter, but North Union was able withstand the rally.
“We came out strong and then let them come back,” NU head coach Bre Jackson. “The game was very physical with aggressive pressure. At the end of the game, we executed defensively very well.”
The Lady Cats were paced by Abbey Price, who scored a game-high 17 points. She also had eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Audrey Benedict added 12 points and seven rebounds and Jada Davis picked up seven steals.
Lynzee Cronkleton led Benjamin Logan with 15 points.
Benjamin Logan won the junior varsity game 37-26.
Allison Price tallied 10 points to lead North Union.
North Union returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts Kenton Ridge.
