Competition involved five teams
The Lady Monarch gymnastics squad dropped its first Ohio Capital Conference meet of the 2019-20 season on Wednesday.
MHS hosted a five-team event at the Marysville Early College High School.
Dublin Jerome won the meet with 134.5 points.
Upper Arlington was the runner-up with 129.15, nudging the Lady Monarchs, who tallied 128.7.
The Lady Golden Bears were Marysville’s OCC opponent for the meet.
Dublin Scioto tallied 107.55 points, while Dublin Coffman finished with 88.85.
Mary Calvert was Marysville’s top gymnast during the meet.
She placed fourth on the uneven parallel bars with a score of 8.45 and All-Around at 33.65.
She was fifth in both the vault (8.1) and balance beam (8.55).
Katelyn Rabe of MHS also placed in the top five.
She was fifth on the bars with a score of 8.25.
The Lady Monarchs are now 4-1 in the Ohio Capital Conference.
They currently have an overall record of 11-4.
Marysville will return to competition on Wednesday, when its hosts Hilliard Darby.
Events will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Lady Monarch head coach Amber Calvert announced her team will host the Ohio Capital Conference meet.
That competition will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Early College High School.
