Five players score in double figures
A total of four players scored in double figures on Tuesday as Marysville’s girls hoop squad blasted Central Crossing, 96-23.
It is the most points the Lady Monarchs have tallied in a single game in recent memory.
Ava Wilkerson scored eight of her 17 points during the opening quarter as MHS (11-5) jumped out to a 25-6 advantage.
Ava Krutowskis, Kass Lee and Madi Sloan each notched five points during the second period.
Marysville held the Comets to just two points during the stanza and took a 44-8 spread into the halftime turn.
Wilkerson added seven markers during the third period.
MHS held a 76-16 lead going into the final quarter.
Joining Wilkerson in double figures were Sloan-15, Lee-15 and Krutowskis-13.
Alyssa Strahm tallied nine, followed by Tinley Graves-seven, Cam Lee-six, JoJo Eberhart-five, Leah Brown-five and Abri Schmutz-four.
MHS will host Chillicothe this evening.

Monarchs top Comets
Marysville’s boys upped their record to 7-6 with a 43-26 verdict at Central Crossing.
MHS held a 17-5 spread after the opening quarter and took a 17-9 margin at halftime.
The Comets managed just three points during the third period and trailed, 35-12, by the end of the set.
Jack Christian led Marysville with 11 points and Garrett Taylor added 10.
They were followed by Riley Karnes-seven, Ryan Barlow-five, Evan Brown-three, Brandon Fourman-three, Griffin Johnson-two and Jason Moore-two.
The Monarchs will travel to Thomas Worthington on Friday.

JA still unbeaten

The state-ranked (No. 5 in Division II) Jonathan Alder Pioneers rolled past Tecumseh, 63-42.
JA (14-0) jumped out to a 23-11 margin by the end of the first period and was never challenged.
Alder (which will play at Springfield Shawnee on Friday) doubled its halftime margin to 36-18.
The Pioneers took a 45-26 advantage into the final quarter.
Jackson Izzard led a trio of Pioneers in double figures with 15 points.
Taber Headings notched 14 and Joey Walker added 11.
They were followed by Grant Welsch-nine, Tyler Begin-seven and Gavin Heimlich-seven.
