Marysville’s girls varsity hoop squad dropped a 66-51 verdict at Olentangy Liberty on Tuesday.
The Lady Monarchs (5-3) trailed, 22-8, after the opening period and 39-21 by halftime.
MHS continued to play catch-up during the third set, but fell behind 53-35.
Logan Brown was the lone Lady Monarch in double figures with 12 points.
Marysville will return to action on Friday at home against Dublin Coffman.

Cardinals fall
Triad’s boys cagers slipped to 0-7 with a 50-47 loss to Northeastern.
Drew Campbell led the Cardinals (who will travel to West Jefferson on Friday) with a career-high 23 points.
He scored nine points during the opening quarter as Triad held an 18-16 edge.
The Cardinals took a 30-23 margin at halftime, but were outscored, 19-9, during the third set.

Bunsold squads

Marysville’s eighth-grade Blue girls squad improved to 7-1 with two recent victories.
The Lady Monarchs rallied for a 39-37 overtime triumph over Delaware Dempsey.
Leah Brown led Bunsold with nine points, while Haylee Huffman added eight.
Bunsold topped Hilliard Weaver, 45-25, by hitting 82 percent from the free throw line.
Gabby Lee, Madison Lim and Payton Pierce each tallied eight points.
Bunsold’s Red girls hoopsters upped their record to 7-0 with a 34-2 verdict over Hilliard Weaver.
Maddie Hansen scored 13, followed by Reagan Cotner-seven and Katie Nichols and Sydney Fetherolf-five each.
