A 10-3 victory at Thomas Worthington kept Marysville’s varsity softball team unbeaten (2-0) in Ohio Capital Conference (Cardinal Division) games.
The triumph also evened the Lady Monarchs’ overall record at 6-6.
Thomas Worthington held a 3-2 lead after four innings.
Marysville erupted for eight scores over the final three frames to notch the victory.
Maya Segner led the team with three hits and drove in a pair of runs.
Camryn Harbold and Ella Wood both finished with two hits.
Wood tallied three RBIs.
Jaidan Hutchins homered in the sixth and notched two ribbies.
Sydney Calhoon and Brooklyn Gamby each had a hit.
Gamby drove in two runs in the fifth inning.
Josie Bumgarner started in the pitching circle for the Lady Monarchs. She hurled the first 3 2/3 innings.
Gamby came on in relief and was the winning pitcher.

The Marysville JV softball team beat Thomas Worthington’s jayvees 16-0 in five innings.
Savannah Jenkins went the distance in the circle. She threw a no-hitter and allowed one walk.
Gwen Dyal had four hits, including a home run.
Jovie Traucht tallied a trio of hits.
Josalyn Taulbee and Hailey Sneider both contributed two hits.

Alder girls unbeaten
in CBC
A road trip to Logan County proved profitable for Jonathan Alder’s softball squad.
The Lady Pioneers claimed a 9-2 victory that kept them unbeaten in the Central Buckeye Conference at 6-0.
Jonathan Alder (8-1 overall) broke a 0-0 stalemate with five runs in the visitors’ portion of the third inning.
JA notched a single run in the fourth and tacked on a trio of insurance scores in the fifth.
Evan Platfoot once again had the big bat for the Lady Pioneers. She tallied four hits in five trips to the plate.
Shanna Higgins went two-for-three and drove in three runs.
Also hitting safely were Anna Engle (with three RBIs), Kiersten Dolby, Riley Magginis, Maggie McCoy, Gracie Napier, Natalie Neumeier and Kylie Petersheim.
Neumeier finished with two RBIs, while Peterscheim drove in a run.
Alyssa Miller struck out seven, walked two and yielded four hits in six innings as the winning pitcher.

triumphs
Jonathan Alder’s baseball squad came home from Bellefontaine with a 5-0 verdict in Central Buckeye Conference action.
Alder plated three runs in the top of the first and added single runs in the second and fourth.
Ashton Martin, Cam Potter and Jace Shrock each had one of JA’s three base hits.
Martin, Schrock and Greg Kennedy drove in runs as JA upped its overall record to 5-1.
Alder is 3-0 in the CBC Kenton Trail Division.
Kenton Ridge is also unbeaten in conference games with a 4-0 mark.
Kennedy went the distance on the mound. He scattered five hits during the game that was shortened to five innings due to weather.
He fanned 11 and walked a pair of batters.

Monarchs fall
Marysville’s varsity baseball team slipped to 7-2 (2-2 OCC) with a 2-0 setback at Thomas Worthington.
The contest was scoreless until the host Cardinals pushed both of their runs across the board in the sixth.
Both teams tallied five hits.
Thomas Worthington played errorless ball, but the Monarchs committed a pair of fielding miscues.
Mason Springs finished with two hits for Marysville.
Griffin Scheiderer, James Hackworth and Damon Wade each tallied one.
Springs pitched five complete innings.
Both of Worthington’s runs were charged to his account.
Springs struck out six and issued a pair of free passes.
Hackworth walked one in an inning of work.
