The Lady Panthers of Fairbanks plated four runs in the home half of the first inning.
That helped result in a 6-1 victory over Columbus Bishop Ready.
FHS (5-3) took a 5-0 lead after two innings.
The Silver Knights scratched out their lone run in the visitors’ portion of the fourth.
Fairbanks tacked on a run in the bottom of the fourth.
Sarah Writesel was the winning pitcher.
She allowed seven hits, struck out eight and issued one walk.
Anna Dulle went three-for-three at the plate with a pair of doubles.
The other seven FHS hits were spread out between the remainder of the lineup.
Jenna Dee drove in a pair of runs.
“We came out ready to play today,” said Fairbanks coach Amy Sines. “Scoring four runs in the first inning was huge.
“Sarah also pitched a great game.”
