Elaina Lahmers, Ellie Carter and Carly Lehman each scored in double figures during a victory by the Fairbanks girls basketball squad.
The Lady Panthers upped their record to 16-5 by defeating West Liberty-Salem 53-49.
Lahmers led with 16 points.
Carter tallied 15 and Lehman finished with 12.
Liz Reinhard scored eight and Reese Poling added two.
FHS (which will travel to Centerburg this evening) jumped out to a 17-7 lead by the end of the opening period.
The Lady Panthers’ offense stalled during the ensuing quarter with only eight points.
Fairbanks took a 25-22 edge into the halftime break and a 39-37 margin into the final set.
Bethel tops Triad
The Cardinals of Triad High School lost to Bethel, 73-57, during a non-conference boys basketball contest.
Carson Manley led Triad with 15 points.
He was followed by Caleb Thomas-12, Ayden Sanford-11 and Ayden Spriggs-11.
Tyler Perry and Kane Bailey both tallied four as the Cardinals slipped to 7-12 on the season.
Triad will host Shekinah Christian on Thursday.
Lady Cardinals drop game
Triad’s girls hoopsters fell to 2-18 overall. The Lady Cardinals dropped a 66-17 verdict to Urbana.
Madi Cox led Triad with six points, while Mia LeMay added five.
Abbey Overfield finished with five rebounds, a pair of steals and a blocked shot.
