The Jonathan Alder girls and boys cross country teams, along with Marysville’s girls squad, each advanced to regional competition last Saturday.
That was the result of Central District action that was held at Hilliard Darby.
In addition, a trio of runners qualified as individuals.
The Lady Pioneers led the field in the Division II, Section 2 race, posting 52 points in edging out second-place Bexley, which had 58 points.
Alder placed all five of its scoring runners in the top 16, led by Evie McDaniel, who was fifth at 20 minutes, 21.3 seconds, and Eliza Streit, who was sixth at 20:22.5.
Completing the scoring placers were Reggan Gray (11th, 20:50.3), Kailyn Greiner (14th, 20:59.8) and Lauren Wynk (16th, 21:07.08). The two non-scoring runners also placed well as Emma Kennedy was 17th at 21:17.3 and Avery Wynk was 22nd at 21:51.3.
Marysville finished third overall in the Division I, Section 2 girls race, earning 115 points.
Bailey Gross (fifth, 19:21.3) and Bryn Hothem (sixth, 19:47.3) led the way for the Lady Monarchs.
Also scoring were Kylie Andrews (29th, 21:22.2), Alyssa Rodman (34th, 21:32.7) and Emerson Bautsch (41st, 21:49.7).
Also running were Ava Elliott (47th, 22:20.7) and Kaylee Morton (50th, 22:28.2).
The Lady Panthers’ Rachael Hoover was third (20:21.4) in the Division III, Section 2 girls race, while Zeke Gingerich was 10th (17:31.8) in the Division III, Section 1 meet.
Other runners for the Fairbanks boys team, which finished fifth were Caleb Wenger (27th, 18:56.3), Cameron Nisly (32nd, 19:34.4), Nicholas Powell (41st, 20:22.1), Bryce Nisly (43rd, 29:34.9) and Nicholas Johnson (46th, 20:57.1).
Also running for the Lady Panthers were Kinley Green (18th, 22:15.9), Kathrine Larsen (42nd, 23:58.4). Kayden Fields (56th, 25:57.2) and Alondra Bosworth (58th, 31:49.2).
Jonathan Alder was fourth overall in the Division II, Section 2 boys race, tallying 92 points.
Sergey Dutt paced the Pioneers, finishing eighth in the time of 17:01.3. Brady Tremayne was 16th at 17:25.6.
He was followed on the scoring sheet by Lucas White (20th, 17:36.1), Matthew Perkey (22 nd, 17:36.8) and Will Jackson (31st, 17:55.6).
Non-scoring runners were Jonas Watkins (50th, 18:39.6) and Luke Goode (54th, 19:06.3).
Preston Herring finished eighth (16:23.3) in the Division I, Section 2 race for Marysville, which finished sixth as a team.
The other Monarchs running were Brian Boston was 26th (17:54.9) and was followed by Jack Flanagan (33rd, 17:10.6), Tyler Heap (41st 17:31.6). James Heap (42nd, 17:33.4), Blake Murgatroyd (46th, 17:41.1) and Lane Coil (49th, 17:52.4).
North Union took seventh in the boys Division II, Section 1 race and the Lady Cats earned the same spot in Division II, Section 2.
Ashley Hayward was North Union’s top placer, taking 19th at 21:34.0 in the girls race.
Also running were Savannah Amstutz (23rd, 22:10.8), Lauren Hall (25th, 22:15.0), Catherine Hinkle (54th, 25:07. 8), Hayley Dailey (55th, 25:21.0) and Aunna Kasler (59th, 25:57.8).
Running for North Union in the boys were Tyler Huff (27th, 18:24.8), Casey Clark (32nd, 18:45.1), Traven Reber (45th, 19:49.1), Mitchell Marlette (51st, 20:05.3), John Popovich (52nd, 20:26.6), Troy Harvey (57th, 20:40.1) and Levi Bard (58th, 20:41.1).
Triad, which was competing in Division III at Cedarville University, finished 17th in the boys race.
Wyatt Robinson was the top finisher for the Cardinals, taking 31st in the time of 17:46.8.
Also running were Joe Ferguson (67th, 18:40.4), Jacob Haser (124th 20:16.0), Charlie Harrington (145th, 21:41.0), Luke Ford (147th, 21:49.5) and Layne Blackburn (167th, 25:03.3).
Tabitha Green was the lone Triad runner in the girls race. She finished 115th in the time of 25:47.8.
All qualifying teams and individuals will compete this coming Saturday in regional competition at Pickerington North.
