Local athletes took advantage of the somewhat clear conditions during this year’s Triad High School track and field invitational.
On the boys side, West Liberty-Salem took first place with a score of 157, followed by North Union in second (139.50 points) and Springfield Shawnee in third (117 points).
Triad’s boys placed fourth with 81 points and Fairbanks was fifth with 68.
Triad took the crown in the girls competition by scoring 148.5 points,
Fairbanks was the runner-up with 137.5 and North Union was third with 117.
Results for local athletes were as follows:
Girls
-North Union’s 4×800 relay team placed first with a time of 10:45.71 which included Savannah Amstutz, Lauren Hall, Gabby Lindsey and Kennedy Ludwig;
-Fairbanks’ 4×8 team of Ava Lahmers, Sadie Miller, Molly Thrush and Hannah Niehuas took third with a time of 11:44.52;
-Triad’s Cayla Eaton placed first in the girls 100-meter hurdles in 16.08;
-North Union’s Riley Heminger placed third in the girls 100-meter dash with a time of 14.0;
-North Union’s 4×200 relay team took runner up honors with a time of 1:54.13. Members of the team were Stella Hancock, Riley Heminger, Gabby Lindsey and Kailyn Colegrove;
-Fairbanks’ tandem of Charley Shope, Alexis Wojcehowics, Thrush and Allie Boyd placed third in the 4×200 with a time of 1:54.73;
-Fairbanks’ Rachael Hoover took the crown during the 1,600 meter run with a time of 5:20.33. She was followed by NU’s Kennedy Ludwig in second place in 5:39.00;
-North Union’s 4×100 meter team of Corajayne DeBoer, Hancock, Heminger and Lindsey Willis took first place with a time of 55.35.
-Fairbanks’ team of Kendra Turner, Elli Shaffer, Abby Gardini and Boyd took second in the 4×400 with a time of 57.68;
-Fairbanks’ Wojcehowics finished first in the girls 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.37. Triad’s Gracie Martin was the runner-up in 1:07.34;
Triad’s Abbey Overfield (46.84) and Kimber Instine (47.55) took first and second, respectively, during the 300-meter dash;
-Cayla Eaton of Triad also took first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.94. She was followed by Fairbanks’ Shope, who recorded a second-polace clocking of 51.86.
-Hoover finished first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:27.17. Ludwig finished third in the event in 2:37.42.
-NU’s Lindsey finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.81.
-Eaton captured the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 31.10. Teammate Kimber Instine took third with a time of 34.07.
-North Union’s Lauren Hall placed third in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:27.75.
-Fairbanks’ 4×400 meter relay team of Shope, Wojcehowics, Thrush and Hoover finished first with a time of 4:25.59. Triad’s team of Breauna Parsons, Gracie Martin, Ashtyn Millice and Overfield took second with a time of 4:42.98.
-Fairbanks’ Sydney Cutler placed third in the high jump at 4-8;
-Triad’s Ellie Johnson placed third in the pole vault with an effort of 7-6;
-Lindsey of NU took first in the long jump (15-4.5), followed by Eaton (14-7.25) in second and Abbey Gardini of Triad third, (13-11);
-Triad’s Mia LeMay (97-1) and Arlo Monroe (95-11.5) placed first and second, respectively, during the discus.
-LeMay won the shot put with a heave of 33-1.
Fairbanks’ Anna Mueller finished third with a toss of 30-6.25;
-Triad’s Emma Ferguson finished first in the triple jump at 26-6.5. North Union’s Allison Stacklin took runner-up honors at 25-11.
Boys
-North Union’s Traven Reber, Zach Meyer, Ben Bonnell and Tyler Huff took second place in the 4×800 relay with a time of 9:04.97.
-North Union’s Griffin Osborne finished first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.40. Triad’s Awsom Mitchell was third with a time of 11.70;
-Fairbanks’ 4×200 relay team of Cohen Riley, Carson Shope, Raiden Humble and Madox Eagon finished second in 1:39.25;
-Fairbanks’ Zeke Gingerich took the crown in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:47.63.
-North Union’s 4×100 meter relay team took second place with a time of 46.16. The foursome consisted of Wyatt Arver, Brycen Delawder, Griffin Osborne and Nick VanHoose;
Triad’s Brody Hess finished first in the 300-meter dash in 39.66;
Fairbanks’ Zeke Gingerich took runner-up honors in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:08.78. North Union’s Zach Meyer finished third in 2:09.62;
-Carter Skaggs of NU was third in the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 28.74;
Triad’s Henry Beaverson finished second in the 3,200-meter run in 10:53.29;
-North Union’s Henry Hayward won the pole vault with an effort of 12-0;
-North Union’s Wyatt Davis (19-7.75) and Griffin Osborne (19-6.75) placed first and second, respectively, during the long jump.
-Andrew Sorg of FHS placed second in the discus with a heave of 130-3;
-Mitchell finished first in the triple jump, recording 37-3.5. North Union’s Brayden Scowden took second place at 36-6.75.
