JV softball team wins
Marysville’s junior varsity softball squad got past Grove City, 5-4.
The Lady Monarchs scored in the first inning.
Maya Segner led off with a single and went to second on Skyler North’s sacrifice bunt.
Segner scored on Abigail Wikerson’s double.
Grove City plated three runs in the second.
MHS came back in the third to take a 5-3 lead.
Segner led off the inning with a double and North had a base hit.
Camryn Harbold then connected on a three-run homer.
Wilkerson walked, stole second and scored on Ashlynn McAdow’s base hit.
The Greyhounds were held in check until the seventh when they scored their fourth run.
Marysville’s defense, though, held on to preserve the victory.
Caitlin Rigel went the distance in the pitching circle.

Bunsold comes back to win
The Bunsold Middle School eighth-grade baseball squad saw its unbeaten mark on the line against Dublin Davis.
The Monarchs trailed 1-0 going into the bottom half of the final inning.
Bunsold, however, plated two runs for a 2-1 victory and remained unbeaten at 12-0.
Max Freeman’s RBI tied the game.
Hayden Beery crossed the plate with the winning run on Jake Fisher’s sacrifice fly.
Jackson Dempsey went the distance on the mound to earn the victory.
The Monarchs will close out their season today at Olentangy Hyatts.
