A handful of local high school girls basketball players have earned All-Ohio accolades for the 2023-24 campaign.
The teams were named in Divisions I and II by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.
The top local honor belongs to Marysville High School senior JoJo Eberhart.
She was named to the Division I second team.
Eberhart averaged 11.7 points and more than four rebounds per game as a guard for the Lady Monarchs.
She helped lead MHS to a district runner-up finish and a 22-4 record during the recent campaign.
MHS placed second to Olentangy in the Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division.
Olentangy went 10-0 in conference games.
The Lady Monarchs were two games off the pace at 8-2.
Jonathan Alder senior Evan Platfoot has been honored as a third-team selection for Division II.
Platfoot was the leading scorer for a Lady Pioneer outfit that captured the Kenton Trail Division title of the Central Buckeye Conference.
Jonathan Alder posted an 8-2 record in the conference, which was ahead of second-place Urbana.
The Lady Pioneers finished the season with an overall mark of 14-8.
Platfoot led Alder in scoring with a 17.2 per-game average and also grabbed 4.3 rebounds per game.
A pair of local athletes earned special mention status in their respective divisions.
They are Marysville senior Abbey Price in D-I and North Union senior Audrey Benedict in Division II.
Price averaged 12.5 points and five rebounds per game for the Lady Monarchs.
Benedict played a key role in the Lady Cats’ Mad River Division championship in the CBC.
She averaged a team-leading 14.1 points per outing and grabbed 3.4 rebounds per game.
The Lady Cats ran the table with a 10-0 record against CBC rivals.
North Union posted an overall record of 17-8.
Zoe Wedding, another North Union senior, earned honorable mention status for Division II.
She averaged 8.4 points, two rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
