Fairbanks’ baseball team ended its spring break trip to Myrtle Beach with a pair of setbacks.
The Panthers (0-3) dropped a 4-3 verdict to Sidwell Friends High School and a 10-4 decision to Wellston.
Fairbanks finished the contest against Sidwell Friends with four hits.
Cole Justus, Dayne Madison, Zavier Payne and Max Snyder all hit safely for the Panthers.
Snyder drove in a pair of runs.
Aidan Luellen went five innings on the bump for the Panthers.
He yielded six hits, struck out one and issued one free pass.
Of Sidwell Friends’ four runs, three were earned.
Owen Woody pitched one inning of relief.
Fairbanks finished the game with just one fielding miscue.
The Panthers held a 2-0 advantage over Wellston through three innings.
Wellston plated five runs in the top of the third and held a 7-4 margin at the conclusion of the sixth inning.
Wellston tacked on three runs during its final at-bat.
Fairbanks outhit its opponent, 9-8.
Madison went three-for-four and Luellen was two-for-three at the plate for FHS.
Justus, Payne, Snyder and Jacob Woody each had one hit.
Madison pitched the first 3 2/3 innings. He struck out three and walked five. He surrendered five hits.
Carson Reames notched one out in relief.
Snyder went the final three innings and yielded five runs, four of which were earned. He fanned five and walked four.
Jayvees win three
Marysville’s junior varsity softball squad won its final three games during the spring break trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
The Lady Monarchs clubbed Monroe (Wis.) High School, 8-1.
Kylie Levings fanned 11 during the complete-game triumph.
Savannah Jenkins hit a home run and Josalyn Taulbee tallied a pair of hits.
Jenkins was the winning pitcher during an 11-1 verdict over Loconia (Wis.) High School.
Morgan Nevers, Jenkins, Addy Altizer and Levings each notched a pair of hits.
Abigail Bryant homered among her two hits.
MHS turned in a 10-0 shutout over Waynesburg (Pa.) High School.
Gwen Dyal, Jenkins and Bryan each finished with two hits.
Levings struck out five to pick up the victory in the pitching circle.

Marysville’s varsity baseball squad scored an 8-0 decision over Girard High School at Vero Beach, Fla.
Mason Springs was the Monarchs’ winning pitcher. He gave up one hit in four innings.
