Marysville track and field athletes came through with several placements during the opening day of the Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division meet.
All of the places for MHS came during field events.
Earning runner-up finishes were Carys Gossett in the girls discus (122-5), Jackie Rychlik in the girls pole vault (11-0) and Andrew Bentz and Cam Jones respectively in the boys shot put (47-0) and long jump (22-3).
Paige Thallman earned a fourth-place slot in the girls high jump (4-10).
A number of Monarch sprinters and hurdlers qualified for Saturday’s finals that will be held at Hilliard Bradley.
The remainder of the field events will also be contested at that time.
“Overall, the team did a great job of taking care of business,” said Marysville head coach Luke Sundermeier. “They set themselves up for a strong day on Saturday.”
