A pair of Marysville Mitts baseball teams claimed championships over the weekend.
The 11U and 9U Mitts won their divisions of the Dean Lowry tournament.
The tourney was held at the Union County Joint Recreation District Complex on County Home Road.
The 11U Mitts defeated the Plain City Pioneers, 7-6, in extra innings to win their title on Sunday afternoon.
Braydox Inks of the Mitts scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth on a passed ball.
The Mitts finished 4-0 for the tournament.
They toppled Upper Arlington 13-1 and Bellepoint Beast 16-4 during pool play on Saturday.
Bellepoint again fell victim to the Mitts during Sunday’s semifinals by a 15-6 margin.
The Mitts then turned back the Pioneers for the title.
The Plain City ball club posted a 2-2 record for the tournament.
The Pioneers fell to the Dayton Crushers, 10-7, on Saturday.
Plain City came back with an 11-1 clubbing over Upper Arlington.
The Pioneers exacted revenge on the Crushers during Sunday’s semifinals.
Plain City beat the Dayton squad by a 3-2 verdict before falling to the Mitts.
The 9U Mitts Crossfield team opened the tournament with a 14-4 verdict over the Bellefontaine Chieftains.
Bellefontaine won its opening round game by a 16-10 count over Upper Arlington.
The Olentangy Stixs Blue beat the Marysville Mitts Wireman, 17-7, to advance to the semifinals against the Mitts Crossfield.
The Mitts Crossfield edged Olentangy, 13-11, to win their age bracket championship.
