Marysville’s varsity girls tennis squad suffered a 4-1 setback at the hands of Dublin Coffman on Thursday.
The lone MHS victory came at third singles as Caroline Geraghty defeated G. Anne 6-1, 6-1.
Emma Pzedpelski lost the first singles contest 2-6, 0-6 to D. Chistyakova and Hanna Hogan fell to H. Win at second singles 0-6, 0-6.
The Lady Monarchs’ first doubles tandem of Ellie Williams and Maddie Blaisdell dropped a 2-6, 0-6 verdict to C. Feit and Emily Yoshino.
The second doubles team of Krista O’Shelski and Caitlee Hill lost to Abby Walker and R. Singhal 1-6, 5-7.
MHS slipped to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the Ohio Capital Conference Central Division.
“The whole team played very competitively and the energy was much better tonight against one of central Ohio’s better programs,” said Monarch head coach Bill Romine.
Marysville’s junior varsity team slipped to 5-2-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference in a loss to the Jr. Shamrocks.
Results were as follows:
-First singles: Chloe Bryan fell to Cici Johnson 4-8;
-Second singles: Ellie Nuspl dropped an 0-8 verdict to Chiharu Wilson;
-Third singles: Blair Fairchild lost to Abbey King 5-8;
-Fourth singles: Taylor Lewis fell to Tanvi Simms 0-8.
-First doubles: Megan Vollrath and Emily Thallman fell to Yuka Hogan and Ayaka Thome 2-8;
-Second doubles: Liv Warner and Alissa Wilms lost to Manu King and Aparna Morris 4-8;
-Third doubles: Gigi Bix and Emma Flint fell to Brooke Davis and Unni Smith 4-8;
-Fourth doubles: Kyla Kapser and Princess Pena lost to Anna and Sara Smith 0-8.
