The boys and girls swimming teams from Marysville High School dominated the opposition during Thursday’s first home dual meets of the 2018-19 season.
The boys splashed their way to an 85-62 victory over Bellefontaine, while the Lady Monarchs scored a 100-70 verdict over the Lady Chieftains.
The MHS boys captured first-place honors in 10 of the 11 events.
The girls topped their opponents in six of their 11 events.
“Our boys swam to an impressive 70 percent seasonal-best times percentage, while our girls showed a very respectable 55 percent during their individual events,” said Monarch head coach Craig Faircloth. “These seasonal-best times percentages were outstanding for where we are in the season.
“The positive results of this meet should serve as a definite confidence booster as we head into two weeks of holiday training before our next meet.”
The Monarchs will return to competition on Saturday, Jan. 5 during the Southeast Ohio Classic Swimming & Diving Invitational, which will be held at Ohio University.
