Marysville High School’s swimming teams held their first meets of the 2020-21 season on Monday.
Because of COVID-19, however, Marysville did not compete against Bellefontaine on a face-to-face basis.
Both schools competed in a “virtual” meet.
The Monarch and Chieftain squads swam at their own pools with a certified official in attendance at each location.
“After the events were over, the results were combined electronically,” said MHS head coach Beth Seman. “It’s definitely different than we are used to, but way better than nothing.”
Both MHS teams notched victories.
The boys claimed a 78-26 victory, while the Lady Monarchs won, 73-51.
