Marysville’s varsity baseball squad slipped to 2-4 after suffering an 11-1 setback at the hands of Hilliard Darby.
The Monarchs were outhit, 14-7.
Griffin Scheiderer and Braden Deere both tallied a pair of hits for MHS.
Single hits came from Nolan French, Aiden Kersten and RJ Thornton.
French drove in Marysville’s lone run.
Hayden Ward took the loss on the mound for the Monarchs.
He surrendered seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. All four runs Darby scored on his watch were earned.
Ward fanned four and issued a like number of walks.
Chase Storr hurled a pair of innings and gave up four earned runs. He struck out three and walked one.
Scheiderer pitched 2/3 of an inning, during which he yielded three earned runs.
