Marysville High School officials have announced, pending approval by the district’s board of education, the hiring of a new head girls soccer coach.
The position became vacant with the resignation of Nathan Andrews over the winter.
Courtney (Ricker) Weikart, a 2008 graduate of Marysville High School, will take over the program, upon the recommendation of Supt. Diane Allen.
Weikart brings eight years of coaching experience back to her alma mater that includes time as an assistant coach at Marysville, Olentangy Orange and Big Walnut.

In her coaching stops, she was a part of a Marysville program that won a district championship in 2013, an Olentangy Orange team that won an Ohio Capital Conference championship in 2014 and most recently a Big Walnut program that won an OCC championship in 2019 and earned a Division II state final four appearance in 2018.
At the collegiate level, Weikart was a four-year starter for the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s soccer team.
She earned numerous awards, including an NAIA Scholar Athlete and being named to the academic all-district team.
She served as a captain during the 2011 campaign when the Cougars finished third at the NCCAA national tournament.
Weikart attributes the Lady Monarch opportunity to those who have helped pave the way for her as a coach.
“It has been all the teachers, coaches and mentors I have had over the years who
gave me opportunities and helped me get to where I am today,” she said. “I am forever indebted to them and look forward to using what they taught me to bring great success to the MHS girls soccer program.”
