Marysville’s varsity wrestling team won three matches when it hosted a quad duals format on Saturday.
The Monarchs rolled past Olentangy Orange, 53-21, defeated Springboro, 46-27, and edged Mentor Lake Catholic, 40-37.
The Monarchs trailed Lake Catholic, 31-18, after nine matches.
Colton Powers began the Monarchs’ comeback with a major decision during the 170-pound match.
Brady Seger (182) and Benjamin Bickerstaff (220) of MHS won their matches by pinfalls.
Those victories pulled the Monarchs to within 37-34.
Marysville then claimed the team victory when Zach McMinn won the heavyweight match by a forfeit.

“We finished 3-0 on the day, which is a positive,” said MHS head coach Shawn Andrews. “However, we lost some individual matchups that we were capable of winning.
“I am glad we had the chance to compete because it has a way of revealing the things we need to work on in a way that is different from practice,” he said. “We knew Saturday was going to be more of a challenge than last Wednesday.”
The Monarchs will begin Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division action at Hilliard Darby on Thursday.
