The Marysville Lady Monarch gymnastics squad placed third during a quadangular meet on Wednesday.
Olentangy won the competition with 131.05 points and Upper Arlington took runner-up honors with 126.75.
MHS trailed the Lady Golden Bears with 126.25 and Mechanicsburg tallied 47.60.
Mechanicsburg had one gymnast, Lily Eck, competing. She placed first on the vault (8.15).
“Although we ended up in third place, we improved our score nearly three points from our first meet,” said Marysville coach Amber Calvert.
The Lady Monarchs placed among the top performers as follows:
Vault
-Brianna Watkins, third, 8.0; Megan Gregory, seventh, 7.75; Abbey Bates, eighth, 7.65;
Bars
-Watkins, third, 7.85; Bates, fourth, 7.8;
Balance Beam
-Watkins, first, 9.15;
Floor exercise
-Watkins, third, 8.7; Kelsey Murphy, sixth, 8.5; Bates, ninth, 8.3;
All-Around
-Watkins, first, 33.7; Murphy and Bates, tied for ninth, 30.7; Gregory, 10th, 30.6.
The next scheduled meet for the Lady Monarchs will be on Wednesday, Jan. 12.
MHS will host Olentangy Orange, Tri-Valley and Dublin Jerome.
